Description
  • Product Name Tyrosine Hydroxylase(Phospho-Ser40) Antibody
  • Host Species Rabbit
  • Clonality Polyclonal
  • Purification Antibodies were produced by immunizing rabbits with synthetic phosphopeptide and KLH conjugates. Antibodies were purified by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific phosphopeptide. Non-phospho specific antibodies were removed by chromatogramphy using non-phosphopeptide.
  • Applications IF
  • Species Reactivity Hu Ms Rt
  • Specificity The antibody detects endogenous level of Tyrosine Hydroxylase only when phosphorylated at serine 40.
  • Immunogen Type Peptide-KLH
  • Immunogen Description Peptide sequence around phosphorylation site of serine 40 (R-Q-S(p)-L-I) derived from Human Tyrosine Hydroxylase (TH).

Background
The protein encoded by Tyrosine Hydroxylase is involved in the conversion of tyrosine to dopamine. It is the rate-limiting enzyme in the synthesis of catecholamines, hence plays a key role in the physiology of adrenergic neurons. Mutations in this gene have been associated with autosomal recessive Segawa syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene.
